Conor O’Neill’s – Alley Bar – Old Town – Fleetwood
Welcome to this week’s installment of the 2009 Ann Arbor Bar Tour! This week, we went to Conor O’Neill’s, Alley Bar, Old Town, and Fleetwood.
The evening started at Conor O’Neill’s (318 S Main St). There was a live band (Michael May & The Messarounds) playing, and it has the classic Irish pub ambience, even if the beers were a bit pricey ($5.50 for a pint of Guinness).
The next stop was Alley Bar (112 W Liberty St). We sat at the bar, watched the B-movie (Alien vs. Hunter, a very bad, very low-budget Alien vs. Predator ripoff) that was playing on the SciFi channel, and listened to parts of the Radiohead – Pablo Honey album and the Nirvana – In Utero album, which were playing overhead.
Next up was Old Town (122 W Liberty St), which has free roasted peanuts and has generic Red Bull on tap–how cool is that?! 🙂
We ended the night with food at the Fleetwood Diner (300 S Ashley St), an Ann Arbor institution with her own MySpace page.
